I am blogging today from my favorite couch at my favorite coffeeshop in town. My laptop is now really a “laptop” because it’s on top of my lap and not on the table. It is a Saturday and I am dateless but I don’t really mind. After all that has happened this week, I need to detox and rest and be alone with myself - and blog. (more…)
Dinner party - Drama Queen style (updated)
Drama Queen is a domestic goddess!
My first dinner party was a HUGE success! And Drama Queen is very proud of how she whipped a good dinner in an hour and a half. I cooked 3, yes three, main dishes, without any help. It was all me - from going to the local wet market, chopping, slicing, cooking, setting the table, down to washing the dishes! Martha Stewart would be so proud!
Since all my guests have big appetites, I prepared Crispy Pata (crispy pork knuckles), steamed shrimps and native Chicken Tinola (Filipino Chicken Soup) and rice. If only there was enough time I was willing to bake a pie for dessert but since time was running out, I just served sweet, ripe mangoes. They adored the spread! My bestfriend kept on praising my culinary skills while stuffing his mouth. We had a good conversation on the table and they were telling me I could be the perfect party hostess. It was so silly of me to forget to take snaps of the food for my blog. I only remembered when we were halfway though the meal! Next time, nobody touches the food unless they have already been photographed!
My guests were stuffed to the gills that come 10:30, they were all ready to go home. hehehe It was a great evening because I shared a good meal with my people - those who love me for who I am, those who appreciate the domestic goddess in me, those that I will share a close-knit friendship with until we grow old, wrinkled and senile.
To friendship, to love, to good food, to Drama Queen’s kitchen skills!
Love remains the same
There is no denying how excited I am to watch Nights in Rodanthe. So excited that I had to buy the book and download Love Remains the Same (yes, that song played on the trailer, by Gavin Rossdale). But I’m reading it in snail-speed because I’m worried how the story will turn out. I’m also scared that I will be so moved I would have to cry and my eyes will turn red and puffy. (more…)
Getting serious at blogging
Maybe it started when I found out my blog was already ranked by Google Pagerank. Maybe it was when I saw when I logged in my Entrecard account and the statistics were far from flattering. Or maybe I was just taking blogging a little more seriously this time. hehehe Red, this is all your fault! (more…)
Baby Bro
I will not be ashamed to admit I am a stage sister and I love my baby brother to bits! Well, he’s not exactly a baby… he’s turning 26 and growing up faster than I can keep up. Yes folks, Drama Queen’s little bro is far from her and she’s an orphaned sister.

DJ for a night
It was a rather slow evening for me last night. I was not in a blogging mode, I didn’t want to play with my gadgets and I was just too lazy to read. I decided to surf the local radio stations hoping to find some peace and tranquility. But I tuned in to 89.1 Killer Bee instead and I became a disk jockey (DJ) for a night! (more…)
Same Auld Lang Syne
I was driving this afternoon on my way to one of the malls and I have this habit of fiddling with the car stereo, not exactly knowing which station to listen to or what song I’m looking for. And then I heard a piano intro and I decided to listen to it because I had this feeling I was on to something good. And it was a very beautiful song indeed! So beautiful, I started crying…
I craned my neck, turned off the airconditioner and listened intently to the lyrics. (more…)
DigitalFilipino.com Club and Bloggers Networking in Davao
I have just received a confirmation email from Migs to the DigitalFilipino.com Club’s bloggers’ event here in Davao sponsored by none other than PAGCOR. It will be a “fellowship/networking event where e-commerce industry players and bloggers can catch up and exchange updates.” Sounds like a lot of fun! It will be on October 21, Tuesday, 6-11 pm at the Grand Regal Hotel. Sassy! The night will have: (more…)
Soul Mates
“When soul mates come together, therefore, a magical moment that is hard to explain takes place. They feel very comfortable, at ease and relaxed with each other. They feel this in the deepest recesses of their beings. They feel a great soothing sensation, even while just being near to each other. “
This is Drama Queen engrossed on her latest read - Soul Mates, Karma and Reincarnation by Jaime T. Licauco. I am so deep into the topic that it takes a lot of self-will for me to put down the book and do other things.
I have always been a believer in past life, the law of karma (commonly known as “what goes around comes around”) and of course, soul mates. Drama Queen is digesting every word of this book not to meet my soul mate because I know I have already met this person. Instead, I want to understand the concept and purge those that are wrong or overly-romanticized. I want to learn as much as I can because I want to share it with other people. The book is an eye-opener and I want to thank my good friend and officemate Elah for her generosity in lending it to me. Rest assured that I will share to you my dear readers whatever I will learn from these pages.
